Happy Wheels has just been released at a time when the notorious and blasphemous death of Flash is about to occur—a truly nerve-wracking moment. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope that the fear of losing Happy Wheels hasn’t kept you from enjoying a good night’s sleep. If you weren’t aware that the game was in development, here’s some good news: this marks the first public release of the game. Please bear with us as we work to fix any remaining bugs.
While I still favor Flash, one of the standout features of this version is its excellent performance on mobile devices. Currently, however, on-screen mobile controls are not yet implemented—these will be added in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to try it out on your phone immediately, a Bluetooth keyboard can serve as a very effective alternative.
Although I previously mentioned the game runs at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels can experience noticeable slowdown at that framerate. There’s already a setting to adjust this, and I may also host a dedicated 60 Hz version for users with high-performance CPUs. Rest assured, Happy Wheels JS aims to faithfully replicate the original’s design and gameplay experience.
The database of users, levels, and replays remains unchanged from the original release. The only casualty is the universe’s impending doom.
